Daily Inspiration: Meet Alisha Bennett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisha Bennett.

Hi Alisha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Raised by a single mother in the beauty industry, I never imagined I would one day find my own place within it. In my early twenties, I felt deeply unsure of my direction — struggling not only with my skin, but with a sense of belonging. It was my mom who gently suggested esthetics school, a step that would unknowingly change everything.

After experiencing two losses prior to starting school, I found out I was pregnant with my daughter just five weeks into the program. I pushed forward through night classes, exhaustion, and doubt, ultimately graduating with her right there beside me — a symbol of perseverance and purpose. I began my career as a determined solo booth renter in a small Utah salon, driven by the desire to build something of my own.

Like many small businesses , the pandemic forced me to step back when service providers were required to close. In the years that followed, I navigated motherhood with two young children while moving through challenging and often toxic work environments, learning difficult but necessary lessons along the way.

Today, I’m grateful to be part of a supportive and inspiring tribe as both a Master Esthetician and manager. I get to raise my children, grow within my craft, and be challenged daily to become a better version of myself. This industry didn’t just give me a career — it gave me a place to stand fully in who I am and take up the space I was always meant to fill.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road- there were plenty of bumps along the way. From Navigating beauty school while pregnant, rebuilding after the pandemic, and learning to accept necessary lessons as such and not set backs or failures. One of the biggest shifts was learning to stop fighting my ADHD and instead embrace it- allowing it to become a strength in my creativity, problem solving, and connection with my clients. I truly believe every challenge ultimately shaped how i work and lead today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Licensed Master Esthetician. I offer a variety of services but my heart will always belong to corrective skin care and textured lash extensions. my work focuses on enhancing natural features while supporting long term skin health, using a individualized approach rather than the text book “one-size-fits-all” approach.

what I am most proud of is building a career that aligns with my values- one rooted in integrity, education, and care. Doing impactful work while raising my children and continuing to grow as a professional is something I hold with a lot of pride.

what sets me apart is my ability to blend technical skill with passion. I work especially well with clients who have sensitive skin, acne or even a sensitive nervous system that all need a gentler approach. embracing how my brain works – including my ADHD – allows me to be highly intuitive, detail oriented and adaptable. I don’t just treat skin and apply lashes; I focus on understanding the person in front of me and create results that are both effective and sustainable.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe luck has anything to do with how things played out for me or my career. I believe that both in the Beauty Industry and in life, you get what you put in to it. This is a comment i say often to others starting out or struggling. In both senecios, if you give it your all, it will make it’s way back around.
