Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Davis.
Hi Aaron, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Art has always been my way to express my self. Growing up from a young age I’ve always been passionate about creating. I was never book smart, growing up with a IEP I had a very hard time in school, so I pored my self into creativity, I have always had a vision to be successful being artistic, but I didn’t know exactly what form it would be from. I was young throwing things at the wall hoping somthing would stick, from dancing, to drawling, painting, music, and cutting hair, I found my self very dedicated to it all, that I would work so hard to be good to a point I would be known from these arts, in the local area and more. Nothing came easy I worked for years to build clients, networking and being a vendor at different events, learning entrepreneurship is all about putting your self out there, shaking hands, staying consistent and building relationships. At the age of 24 I was motivated by someone very close to me telling me I wouldn’t be successful with being a barber. That lead me to take action on going to beauty school and becoming a licensed hair stylist. After school I got into my first shop and created a name in my local city. I then started to travel and competing in competitions for hair around the nation, that trickled down to me inspiring up coming artist and others, so I started teaching salons, barbershops and beauty schools and barber schools. By doing this I build a imagine, and being a imagine I want to capitalize on building a brand. Witch I created Creative Stylez. I didn’t want this name to just represent my self I wanted this brand to make a statement for anyone and everyone who has a creative mind set, I created slogans and statements for my brand, “ LET ME CREATE “ , Imagine Create Inspire & Create your own style. These slogans are statements that represent the brand. My next goal was to create a space that was not like your ordinary barbershop. I wanted to create a one stop shop. Where artist cone together to show case their skill, and provide for our community. In 2024 I opened my first location of creative stylez studio. From the start I wanted to hold the highest standards of professionalism and conduct. Building a culture around respect, expertise, skill and integrity futuring highly skilled artist that come together to support each other and serve our community. I wanted to help give artist a platform to show case their art, and I also wanted to give our community a safe environment to escape reality and come to our space to find a great service or even some inspiration. But this isn’t the end, I have a-lot more planned for our team and our community we are just getting started.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing in my life has been easy. Being an entrepreneur is one of the most difficult career paths anyone can choose. It starts with faith—believing in yourself and being dedicated enough to keep pushing forward, even when those around you don’t see your vision or understand your mindset.
There have been many hurdles I’ve had to overcome and countless roadblocks along the way. One of the biggest challenges has been being a father while maintaining a balanced lifestyle for my children. Working with their mothers and helping them understand the commitment I made to myself and my vision over 20 years ago has not always been easy.
Simply staying consistent, building a client base, and keeping people coming through the door is a challenge in itself. My brand has gone through many phases of trial and error—from product quality issues to learning the struggles of finding the right manufacturers. There has been wasted money, time invested, and countless lessons learned. Through it all, I’ve had to adapt and make adjustments to keep moving forward.
Opening my shop brought a whole new set of challenges. It required learning how to work with others, manage different personalities, find the right people, and lead with good intentions and a pure heart. That is not an easy task.
Every day presents a new problem that needs a solution. I’ve learned that being a business owner means being a problem solver every single day.
As a business owner and entrepreneur, you’re constantly reinvesting back into the business. Often, those around you will profit before you do. It can be difficult to keep the faith and remember that your vision is a long-term game. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but consistency, perseverance, and belief in the process are what keep you moving forward.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a full-time artist and entrepreneur specializing in hair, fashion, painting, music, videography, and creative direction. For over 20 years, I have remained dedicated to my craft, building a reputation as a consistent creator and visionary.
As an award-winning barber recognized across the nation, I have had the privilege of influencing and inspiring the next generation of artists and entrepreneurs. My passion lies in creating—whether behind the chair, behind the camera, on canvas, through music, or by building brands that leave a lasting impact.
Creativity is more than what I do—it’s who I am.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Staying consistent. Doing good business. Stay true to your vision.
