Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark.
Hi Mark, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Started plumbing while living in mammoth lakes calfornia in 1999. Worked for a local plumbing company until deciding to move to Washington state in 2004. Angeles plumbing had an ad in the local paper which I responded to prior to the move and was hired in March of 2004. Arrived in Port Angeles on a Friday and started with Angeles Plumbing on the following Monday. Became the lead plumber after approximately 3 years. The owner of the company unfortunately was diagnosed with cancer and was forced to sell the business quickly due to the stage of the disease. A friend of mine who owned a couple business’ saw the opportunity to keep a local business intact and purchased the company and asked me to run the business with the prospect of purchasing it in the future. I ran the company for him until January of 2023 at which time I took over as the owner . Angeles Plumbing has been in business since 1989 and continues to serve the community for all their plumbing needs
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Biggest obstacle has been tackling the administrative side of the business. The actual plumbing side and work in the field is the easy part in my eyes but under estimated the amount of work behind the scenes. Fortunately i have a great office manager who has ran her own company if the past to help me navigate any challenges. Finding employees has also been a struggle. There is a lack of skilled tradesmen in our area and younger generation does not have the desire to work in the trades. With that being said I have been fortunate to assemble the amazing crew i have and with their help we have created a family environment and a great cohesiveness at Angeles Plumbing.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are a small plumbing company that handles all phases of plumbing. We primarily focus on service work but also do a lot of remodels, new construction both commercial and residential. We are known for our quick response and efficient work at a fair price. I am most proud of being able to continue the angeles plumbing name and providing plumbing service as the original owner intended. I feel that our fairness to customers and quality of work provided by our great crew is what sets us apart. We are the company that your friend would recommend.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I had no ambition of doing anything mechanical. I actually thought i could be an actor/comedian or something along those lines but found out that once I started a job in the trades i enjoyed it and liked providing a service to people and the satisfaction of fixing things and seeing the joy in customers faces when finished. I played sports growing up and basketball occupied a lot of my interests when i was younger.
